Big South Conference Launching New Brand Identity This Weekend

The Big South Conference on Saturday will launch a new brand identity that includes new messaging, color schemes and logos. A secondary logo also will be unveiled for the first time. There are three major goals with the re-brand. Big South Commissioner Kyle Kallander said the first is “to distinguish ourselves as a Division 1 conference.” He added the Big South also wants to "develop pride and have our institutions and members display pride," as well as be more "recognized and respected both regionally and nationally." SME, N.Y., was hired to create the brand campaign.

To celebrate the launch, Big South men’s and women’s basketball players will wear T-shirts with the new logo and mantra during warm-ups for an eight-day stretch beginning Saturday. A limited supply of T-shirts also will be distributed to fans attending games during that time. The launch will be celebrated during the Big South’s televised games on American Sports Network and ESPN3, including PSAs and interviews with conference administrators regarding the re-brand. Future re-brand activation will include new billboards within the Big South geographical footprint, as well as integration during the league’s spring sports season.
