Big Ten Tributes: Conference Using Special Coin For Saturday Games

The Big Ten will "honor the memory" of late Nebraska P Sam Foltz and Michigan State P Mike Sadler with a "special commemorative coin to be used" in all seven conference football games this Saturday. The two players died in a car crash in July. The coins were "developed collaboratively by representatives from Nebraska, Michigan State, the Foltz and Sadler families and the Big Ten" (DETROIT NEWS, 9/29).


Meanwhile, the Michigan State football team during Saturday's game at Indiana will honor former MSU and NFL LB Mylan Hicks, who died recently in a night club shooting in Calgary. The players "will wear black shoes and black socks," as well as a "decal on the back of its helmets with Hicks' number, six" (MLIVE.com, 9/27).
