NFL, Nike Roll Out Color Rush Uniform Designs For All 32 Teams

Nike and the NFL today unveiled Color Rush uniforms for all 32 clubs, with the designs featuring a monochromatic look meant to highlight each club's distinctive identity. The uniforms will be worn for Thursday night games, and 100% of the NFL's proceeds from the sale of Color Rush jerseys will go directly to the NFL Foundation to fund youth health, safety and wellness programs. The first $500,000 raised from this initiative will be earmarked to replace youth and high school football equipment and fields lost in last month's floods in Louisiana (NFL).

Nike "indicated that some teams will wear all white during Thursday night games if the matchup of color uniforms would cause issues for the approximately 10 million Americans who are colorblind." The teams wearing white will be the Jets, Browns, Rams, Falcons, Cardinals and Texans. Also, the Colts, Redskins and Lions "won't wear the Color Rush jerseys on the field because Thanksgiving games aren't part of the Color Rush program this season" (ESPN.com, 9/13).
