Hornets Reveal Uniquely Designed Video Boards Featuring "Wings"

The Hornets unveiled their new video board package Friday morning for local media prior to a sneak peek event Friday night for existing and prospective season-ticket holders. The $7M system, produced by Samsung's Prismview, includes a new center-hung scoreboard, four boards in the upper deck corners and two 360-degree ribbon boards. "This is the future of scoreboards," said Hornets Exec VP and Chief Sales & Marketing Officer Pete Guelli. "Nobody has taken it to the next level from a design standpoint, inserting their DNA."

The center-hung scoreboard, customized with supports designed to look like hornet wings, "is the best in the NBA and possibly in sports," Guelli said. The 12-year-old facility, currently Time Warner Cable Arena, will be renamed Spectrum Center in the coming weeks.
