Football Drama "Greater" Tells Inspirational Story Of Arkansas Walk-On

The film "Greater," which tells the story of Univ. of Arkansas walk-on Brandon Burlsworth, debuts Friday night. Burlsworth in his senior year became an All-American and was "drafted in the third round" by the Colts. However, he died "just 11 days" later. Maybe the "unlikeliest thing about the film is how little truth it seems to change for dramatic purposes" (ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE, 8/26).

The indie drama is "just sweet enough and slick enough to appeal to pigskin fans and Christian family audiences" (L.A. TIMES, 8/25). An "insistent, clunky sermon about triumph through faith," director David Hunt’s film is "so determined to turn its subject into a Christ-like saint that it loses any sense of him as an actual flesh-and-blood man" (YAHOO.com, 8/23).
