Organizers Eye Record Crowd For ICC Match At Ohio Stadium

Ohio Stadium tonight hosts a Real Madrid-Paris Saint-Germain match as part of the Int'l Champions Cup, and organizers "hope the contest will draw 70,000 to 80,000 fans." To date, the "largest crowd ever to witness a soccer game in Columbus is 31,550" for a Crew home match during the '96 MLS regular season. Despite the absence of Real Madrid MF Cristiano Ronaldo and MF Gareth Bale, both the La Liga club and PSG "still will have plenty of well-known players in uniform" (COLUMBUS DISPATCH, 7/27).
