NBA Draft Prospects Simmons, Paige Lead The Way On Social Media

A look at the social media prowess of NBA Draft prospects shows that LSU F Ben Simmons leads the way on Facebook and Instagram, while North Carolina G Marcus Paige is tops on Twitter, according to data from MVPindex. Simmons leads all Draft prospects in likes, comments and shares per post on Facebook. While he does not have the highest post rate, he is mentioned more than any potential pick and has the most likes of any draftee with over 53,000. Simmons also has the most Instagram followers with over 470,000, despite only having an account on the platform for 11 weeks.

Meanwhile, Paige leads all draftees on Twitter with over 201,000 followers, more than twice that of Simmons. He also has tweeted over 4,700 times, compared to Simmons’ 240. Paige has a retweet rate of 4,510 per tweet, which compares to an average of 1,210 for all draftees.
