U.S. Sen. Seeks Answers From WADA On Russian Doping Investigation

U.S. Sen. John Thune (R-S.D.), who serves as Chair of the Committee on Commerce, Science & Transportation, "sent a seven-page letter" to WADA asking the agency's president to "explain why it had taken years to investigate claims of a government-run doping program in Russia and called for further inquiries." WADA is "partly funded" by U.S. taxpayers. Thune called for WADA to "broaden its investigation into systematic doping, going beyond track and field, the Sochi Games and Russia." He also asked WADA to "look back further" than the '14 Games (NYTIMES.com, 6/20).
