Huge Rose Bowl Crowd Expected For Mexico-Jamaica Soccer Match

The Mexican men's national soccer team will have "what is expected to be a home crowd" for tonight's Copa America Centenario match at the Rose Bowl against Jamaica, and attendance is "expected to be significantly higher" than the 60,025 on hand for Sunday's Mexico-Uruguay match at Univ. of Phoenix Stadium. As of yesterday afternoon, a "little more than 91,000 tickets had been sold" for tonight's contest (Palm Springs DESERT SUN, 6/9).

Mexico "has drawn the nine largest crowds for an international soccer game" in the U.S. since the last FIFA World Cup, "topped by the 93,723 that packed the Rose Bowl for the CONCACAF playoff with the U.S. last fall" (L.A. TIMES, 6/9).
