Nitro Circus, NBC Sports Partner For New Nitro World Games

Nitro Circus, the Utah Sports Commission and NBC Sports today announced plans for the Nitro World Games on July 16, a new event billed as “the biggest in the history of action sports.” Nitro CEO & Creative Dir Michael Porra said the games are the result of three years’ work to reinvent action sports competitions with help from action sports star Travis Pastrana. The event will be held at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City and will air live on NBC in primetime.

Every event will be a final round, and organizers will host preliminary open-qualifying events at the Nitro Circus Academy of Excellence at Woodward West and at the Pastranaland complex in Maryland. The contest will include seven gold medal events: FMX, FMX biggest trick, BMX best trick, BMX triple jump, skate best trick, scooter best tricks and inline best tricks.
