NFL Network Show To Premiere On Facebook Before Heading To TV

NFL Network’s original series “Football Town: Barrow Alaska” will debut on Facebook one week prior to the show’s premiere on the linear channel, marking the first such occurrence for the league’s TV station. The first of the docu-series’ eight episodes will be seen in full on the social media platform next Tuesday, Sept. 15, before its official TV premiere Sept. 22 at 9:00pm ET. NFL Network VP/Marketing Steven Graciano said, “It’s a way to see if we can build buzz or drive viewership for the linear channel by doing some sampling on Facebook.”

The TV channel will present a sneak peek of the show, which features a high school football team in the northernmost point of the U.S., following its first “TNF” broadcast of the season, Chiefs-Broncos on Sept. 17. “Football Town,” which is co-produced by NFL Network in association with Leftfield Pictures and Northern Lights Media, will regularly air Tuesdays at 8:30pm, with an encore viewing of each episode following the “TNF” postgame show.
