San Diego Officials Unveil Stadium Financing Proposal, Renderings

San Diego officials today "advanced their pursuit of a new Chargers stadium" by unveiling a financing plan, releasing a 6,000-page environmental analysis and "presenting both to a group of NFL owners." The proposal requires city and county taxpayers to cover 32% of an estimated $1.1B in stadium construction costs, with the Chargers, NFL and PSL revenues covering the other 68%. The team would receive "all revenue from naming rights, luxury suites, and concessions." A "financial pact must be forged with the Chargers by Sept. 11 for a term sheet to be ready for a special election city officials have planned for Jan. 12" (SANDIEGOUNIONTRIBUNE.com, 8/10).

The city also unveiled renderings of the proposed stadium (Mult., 8/10).
