Record Crowd Headed To Georgia Dome For Gold Cup Semifinals

More than 68,000 tickets have been sold to tonight's CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinals at the Georgia Dome, and up to 72,000 fans are "expected to be in the Dome" for the doubleheader featuring U.S.-Jamaica and Panama-Mexico. The previous "record to watch soccer" in Atlanta was 68,212 for a Mexico-Nigeria match in March '14 (ATLANTA JOURNAL-CONSTITUTION, 7/22). Tickets for tonight's games "are sold out" (BIZJOURNALS.com, 7/21).
