WNBA Shock Announce Plans To Move To Dallas-Ft. Worth

WNBA Shock Majority Owner Bill Cameron today announced plans “to relocate the team to the Dallas-Fort Worth area.” Cameron requested that the league “submit the request to the Board of Governors for approval as soon as possible.” He cited a “larger fan base and increased corporate sponsorship pool in a top-five media market as reasons for the move” (TULSAWORLD.com, 7/20). Cameron said that he was “proud of the effort” from the Tulsa community since the team moved from Detroit in ’10 and that it was a “difficult decision because of the effort from Tulsa’s investors” (AP, 7/20).
