Periscope Co-Founder Discusses Streaming Of Mayweather-Pacquiao

Periscope co-Founder Kayvon Beykpour today at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference talked about the use of the app around the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao fight, saying that some of the subsequent discussion "has been overblown." He "admitted that the current process mandated by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, which requires a provider take down content within 24 hours of being notified, doesn't really work for live content." Beykpour: "We're totally open to conversing about types of tooling we can build to improve the process" (MASHABLE.com, 5/5).

Meanwhile, Mayweather today in a text told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith that he would be "open to a rematch" after Pacquiao recovers from shoulder surgery (ESPN.com, 5/5).
