NBA Names Warriors GM Bob Myers Exec Of The Year For '14-15

The NBA on Friday announced that Warriors GM Bob Myers has been named Exec of the Year for the '14-15 season. Myers, now in his third season as GM, received 13 of 30 first-place votes from a panel of fellow NBA execs. Cavaliers GM David Griffin finished second and Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer was third. Myers is the second Warriors exec to win the award, joining Dick Vertlieb in '74-75 (NBA).

The Oakland Tribune's Marcus Thompson II tweeted, "Best thing about Myers: he does his research, he is open to ideas, and he understands some decisions don't work out so he takes Ls well." Suns VP/Digital Jeramie McPeek: "Disappointed my guy @Cavs GM David Griffin finished 2nd for NBA Executive of Year. But @warriors GM also deserving for bold @SteveKerr hire." San Jose Mercury News' Tim Kawakami: "Nobody's saying the Warriors have 'too many cooks' in the front office any more. At least not out loud."
