NFL Owners Meeting Includes Talk From N.Y. Times' David Brooks

The annual NFL owners meeting gets underway Sunday with committee meetings and a presentation by N.Y. Times columnist David Brooks, who will speak about the role of football in American culture. The meeting, which runs through Wednesday at the Biltmore hotel in Phoenix, will address a wide range of league issues, including the status of possibly relocating a team to L.A.; the possibility of expanding the playoffs; and votes to renew the CBS Thursday Night package, as well as deals with Nike and EA. There are also a host of playing proposals, over a dozen of which deal with expanding instant replay.
