Mark Cuban Says NBA Plays "The Right Number Of Games"

Mavericks Owner Mark Cuban today said of shortening the NBA season, "We play the right number of games. What happens is guys are playing international ball, they're playing for their national teams over the summer and so their season really doesn't end. They may want to shorten the NBA season to enable themselves to be able to play through the summer."

Cuban said the 44-minute game experiment "was dumb" because it is "not like you're going to play your best players less." Cuban: "You're going to play them the same amount and what could end up happening is that you end up having a game where it's five-on-five the entire game. … That said, the ... exciting part of it is that Adam Silver's open to anything. He's willing to consider and try any ideas which is something that I really admire about Adam" ("Mike & Mike," ESPN Radio, 10/28).
