ESPN will have a new producer in its "MNF" truck next season, as VP/Production Jay Rothman is leaving the truck to oversee the net's MLB and "MNF" coverage. In his new role, Rothman also will oversee ESPN's internal group of directors. Rothman will produce "MNF" through the '15 Pro Bowl. His replacement has not been announced. The move is part of a reorganization in ESPN's production department that was announced today. According to an internal memo from ESPN Exec VP/Programming & Production John Wildhack, Senior VP/ESPN Audio Mo Davenport will oversee both ESPN Radio and ESPN's Talent office, which is the group that hires and develops on-air talent. Previously, Davenport only had overseen radio.
Meanwhile, Amy Rosenfeld was promoted to Senior Coordinating Producer/Soccer, Motorsports & X Games. She previously was Coordinating Producer/Soccer and reported to Senior VP & Exec Producer Jed Drake during ESPN's FIFA World Cup coverage this summer. As part of the move, Drake will shed the Exec Producer title and become Senior VP/Production Innovation. That will keep the exec's hands in production, tech and creative services. Drake has a long lineage with TV tech, having helped create the yellow first-down marker that is ubiquitous on football telecasts today and NASCAR's Draft Track technology that debuted in '06.
