Demand High For Sold Out Rutgers Big Ten Home Opener

Saturday night's Penn State-Rutgers game at High Point Solutions Stadium is sold out, marking the "fastest sellout since the Scarlet Knights expanded the stadium capacity to 52,454." The game also has produced the "most expensive" ticket on the secondary market for Rutgers. SeatGeek.com's Connor Gregoire said, "We've already seen about 6,000 tickets change hands for this game and expect that number to be closer to 8,000 by kickoff." TiqIQ's Chris Matcovich: "Demand and quantity available ... is much higher than in years past due to the conference move" (Bergen RECORD, 9/12).

Meanwhile, Michigan could be "in danger of having its streak of 252 consecutive crowds of 100,000 or more at Michigan Stadium end" for Saturday's game against Miami (Ohio). Michigan is coming off a lopsided loss to Notre Dame, and the matchup against a winless MAC team "wasn't an easy sell to begin with" (DETROIT NEWS, 9/12).
