Fenway Park Playing Host To Liverpool-AS Roma Soccer Friendly

Fenway Park tonight will host a soccer exhibition featuring EPL club Liverpool and Serie A club AS Roma. The field in front of the Green Monster has been “chalked off with white lines stretching all the way into center field” and the diamond is “obscured in places by sod to complete the playing surface.” The makeshift field and Liverpool trimmings around the ballpark “reflect the shared bonds between the baseball and the soccer operations at Fenway Sports Group” (BOSTON HERALD, 7/23).

Meanwhile, other int'l friendlies on tonight's docket are Manchester United-Galaxy at the Rose Bowl, Manchester City-Sporting KC at Sporting Park, Toronto FC-Tottenham Hotspur at BMO Field, Crystal Palace-Crew at Columbus Crew Stadium and Atletico Nacional-Monaco at Marlins Park (THE DAILY).
