Univ. Of Dayton's New Logo Refers To City's Aviation History

The Univ. of Dayton on Friday as part of a rebranding effort unveiled its new logo, "a giant, red letter D" that "looks like it is moving forward." The school said that the "logo change was in the works for about 18 months" (AP, 7/18). The wings in the logo "pay homage to the school's location in Dayton, the birthplace of flight." The Flyers also revealed a navy blue alternate uniform. The basketball programs "will be the first teams to use the new logo and wear the new uniforms, which will be phased into usage over the course of the next few months" (SPORTINGNEWS.com, 7/18).
