Buzzer Beaters....

The Missouri Valley Conference today announced that its men's basketball tournament will remain at St. Louis' Scottrade Center for three additional years through '18, with options to extend for '19 and '20. The conference sent RFPs to five cities and entertained formal bids from Scottrade, K.C.'s Sprint Center and the Chicago-area Sears Centre Arena (THE DAILY).

A "verdict has been reached in a negligence lawsuit" against the Dodgers and former team Owner Frank McCourt over the '11 beating of Giants fan Bryan Stow. The verdict will be read in L.A. Superior Court in a session scheduled to start at 1:30pm PT (AP, 7/9).

The Patriots are employing a "20 years as one" theme as part of their '14 season-ticket packages, a reference to Robert Kraft's 20 years as Owner. Each ticket "has a photo that captures some of the more meaningful moments of the past 20 years" (ESPNBOSTON.com, 7/9).
