Road America Set For Nationwide Series Race With New Sponsor

Road America “lost money last season on its NASCAR Nationwide Series race, and this weekend will have its third title sponsor in three years.” Fewer cars “are entered than for any of the first 13 events of this season.” Hard costs for a three-day weekend total an "estimated" $1.5M. Gardner Denver Industrial Products Group CEO Luis de Leon, whose company is title sponsoring the race, said that it “has the opportunity to tout the move of its headquarters to Milwaukee, to freshen an old brand, to entertain dealers and introduce products to customers” (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 6/19).
