March Madness Live Sets Records For Live Streams, Hours Consumed

March Madness Live finished the '14 NCAA men's basketball tournament with 69.7 million live video streams and more than 15 million hours of consumed live video, according to data from Turner Sports. The figures are each new event records, and are up 42% and 7%, respectively, from '13. This year's traffic from the digital distribution of the tournament surpassed all of last year after the first weekend of play, and continued its record pace for the rest of the event. Last night's UConn-Kentucky championship game by itself generated 2 million live video streams, up 30% from last year's title game.

The most popular single game of MML this year remained the Ohio State-Dayton game that opened play on Thursday, March 20, marking for many the full start of the tournament and generating 4.59 million live streams. March Madness Live posted a second consecutive year of growth after a rare drop in audience in '12.
