Hendrick Motorsports' NASCAR Sprint Cup Series No. 24 Chevy driven by Jeff Gordon will sport a Texas A&M paint scheme during Sunday's Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway. The car sports the Dwight Look College of Engineering logo. The paint scheme "was made possible" by Texas A&M alumnus and Axalta Coating Systems Chair & CEO Charlie Shaver, whose company sponsors the No. 24. A group of 28 engineering students will get a "behind-the-scenes look at the impact of engineering" on NASCAR (Bryan-College Station EAGLE, 4/4).

Meanwhile, Spin Master’s NASCAR Authentics licensed brand on Friday unveiled a Sprint Cup Series show car bearing a paint scheme designed by Ft. Worth-area fourth grader Whitney Thomason. The Samuel Beck Elementary School student won NASCAR Authentics' "Design A Die-cast" contest, which is tied to Texas Motor Speedway's "Speeding To Read" educational program (Spin Master).
