NBA Names Heat, Warriors Co-Winners Of Retailer Of The Year

As part of its annual Team Retail Summit, the NBA has named the Warriors and the Heat co-winners of the '12-13 team retailer of the year. The awards follow a season during which the league set new highs in licensed merchandise sales. It is the first time in its history that the award has been given to more than one team. Both the Warriors and Heat reported record merch sales. While winning its second consecutive NBA championship, the Heat recorded the highest regular-season, playoff and NBA Finals retail per-cap average in league history.

The league also named 47 Brand as it apparel licensee of the year and Wincraft as its non-apparel licensee of the year. "The reason in both cases is simple," said NBA VP/Retail & Marketing Development Brian Keegan. "They both make great product and they both service the heck out of our teams."
