"Title Talk" Out-Draws "Film Room" During ESPN's BCS "Megacast"

ESPN2's "Title Talk" drew nearly four times more viewers than ESPNews' "Film Room" during ESPN's "Megacast" schedule for the BCS National Championship. "Title Talk," which had personalities like Johnny ManzielTim Tebow and Scott Van Pelt discussing the game, averaged 389,000 viewers. The critically acclaimed "Film Room," which had coaches like Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin and Boston College's Steve Addazio dissecting the game, averaged 100,000 viewers. Meanwhile, ESPN's main channel drew 25.572 million viewers for the game.

The numbers are surprisingly large for "Title Talk," which largely was panned on social media, but still ranked 11th among all ESPN2 shows last week. Meanwhile, the number for "Film Room" seemed surprisingly low, given the amount of praise it received during the game. Its 100,000 viewer average ranked 37th among all ESPNews shows for the week and fell well short of its lead in programming – reruns of "PTI" (170,000 viewers) and "Around the Horn" (143,000). ESPN2 is in 97 million homes, and ESPNews is in 74 million, according to Nielsen's most recent estimates.
