England Will Not Play U.S. During Pre-World Cup Trip To States

A source said that the England men's national soccer team "will not meet the U.S. national team" during its trip to the U.S. as part of a pre-FIFA World Cup tune-up. The source said that talks "broke down in part because of logistics: England wanted the game to take place in Florida or on the East Coast, while the U.S. wanted it to happen on the West Coast." England will play friendlies against Honduras and Ecuador in Miami (SI.com, 1/9).

Meanwhile, the Mexican Football Federation and Soccer United Marketing announced that the Mexican national team will play pre-World Cup friendlies against Nigeria at the Georgia Dome on March 5 and against Ecuador at AT&T Stadium on May 31 (FMF/SUM).
