Lagardère Unlimited Signs Patrick Peterson, Formerly With Galaxy Sports

Lagardère Unlimited has signed Cardinals CB Patrick Peterson for representation. Lagardère Football President and NFL agent Joel Segal will represent Peterson. He was formerly represented by Galaxy Sports Advisors President Patrick Lawlor, who had signed Peterson prior to the '11 NFL Draft. Lawlor only represents one other player in the league, but is a personal injury attorney in Boca Raton, Fla., who has tried more than 175 civil cases. Lawlor said Peterson told him last Monday that he was terminating him. Peterson also told Lawlor at that time that he was trying to choose between Segal and Eugene Parker, head of the football division at Relativity Sports as his new agent.

Lawlor has been quoted publicly as saying that he believes someone may have given Peterson a financial inducement to sign him, but today he said that he has no evidence that someone offered Peterson an inducement or solicited him to sign with them. “If over the next few months, I get evidence that there has been some sort of improper solicitation or a financial inducement, in violation of NFLPA rules of conduct for agents, I will pursue a grievance,” Lawlor said.
