Rogers Communications Buys Naming Rights For Future Oilers Arena

Rogers Communications has purchased the naming rights to a future Oilers arena in downtown Edmonton, and the venue will be called Rogers Place. It is "not known how much Rogers paid" team Owner Daryl Katz' Rexall Sports Inc. for the naming rights, "nor how long the deal is for." The Oilers "retain all revenue from the naming rights." Rogers "already has a long-term regional TV deal to broadcast 60 Oilers regular-season NHL games" (EDMONTONJOURNAL.com, 12/3).

Rogers also currently has naming rights at the Canucks’ venue (Rogers Arena) and Blue Jays’ ballpark (Rogers Centre) (THE DAILY).
