Chicago City Council Approves $500M Plan To Remake Wrigley

The Chicago City Council today approved the Cubs' $500M plan to renovate Wrigley Field and its surroundings, "although a couple of key issues have yet to be sorted out." Key parts of the plan, "including a 5,700-square-foot video board in left field, a doubling of other signage within the park and the construction of a hotel, office-retail complex and plaza," now have final approval. Among the unresolved issues is a plan to "extend the rear right field wall back even farther than first envisioned" (CHICAGOTRIBUNE.com, 7/24).
