Jason Collins Story Helps SI.com Sees Its Highest Traffic Day Ever

SI said it recorded its highest-ever traffic day yesterday to SI.com as a result of its Jason Collins story, generating more than 3.71 million unique visitors. SI also had more than 740,000 unique visitors to its mobile site, five times its typical daily average since its relaunch last fall. The Collins story additionally generated 4.1 million social actions across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Google+, another one-day company record. SI.com's previous one-day traffic high was 3.66 million unique visitors on Feb. 9, 2010, which featured both the unveiling of that year's Swimsuit edition and previews of the Vancouver Games.
