Buzzer Beaters....

Florida State lost "more than $478,000 from its participation" in this season's ACC Championship football game at Bank of America Stadium, according to the school's income statement from the game. A majority of the loss "stems from dismal ticket sales" for the matchup against Georgia Tech (WARCHANT.com, 2/15).

NASCAR driver Brad Keselowski did not qualify for Saturday's The Sprint Unlimited at Daytona Int'l Speedway and will be in Fox' broadcast booth for the race. Keselowski: "Maybe I'll get to see a few things, hopefully open up some eyes on the broadcast side to make their stuff better" (AP, 2/14).

PETA this week for the first time named its top 10 vegetarian-friendly NBA arenas, with L.A.'s Staples Center topping the list. The organization for the past several years has published a similar list for NFL and MLB facilities (PETA).
