The Mariners today announced that they had officially reached a contract extension with P Felix Hernandez and the team will hold a press conference tomorrow in Seattle (Mariners).

The Kentucky state House budget committee today unanimously approved a bill that "would tax bets placed on horse races via telephone or the Internet." State Rep. Larry Clark said a 0.5% tax on those bets "would generate more than $400,000 in taxes," with 85% going to the tracks (KENTUCKY.com, 2/12).
