Report: Checketts Has Sold Interest In RSL To Investor Hansen

MLS Real Salt Lake Owner Dave Checketts reportedly has sold his interest in the club to minority owner Dell Loy Hansen, with a formal announcement expected later this afternoon. A team spokesperson declined to comment further. The "move to buy out Checketts comes a year after" the team's founder was named Chair & CEO of Legends Hospitality Management (SLTRIB.com, 1/24).
Checketts’ commitment to Legends, where he has been spending most of his time in the firm’s N.Y. office, was a driving force behind his decision to sell his share to Hansen, according to officials familiar with Checketts’ situation (Don Muret, SportsBusiness Journal).
