Vikings Stadium Groundbreaking Tentatively Set For October '13

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority on Friday announced two developments regarding the planned $975M Vikings stadium. The "long-awaited" groundbreaking for the venue is set for October '13, "the most specific timeline mentioned so far for the start of the project." It is also a "bit later than the timetable previously mentioned by the authority and team officials." The MSFA also began soliciting bids for a construction management firm, with its RFP setting a $690M target for construction costs (STARTRIBUNE.com, 12/7).
