Moet & Chandon Friday announced a deal making tennis player Roger Federer an ambassador for the champagne brand (Moet & Chandon).

The Univ. of Texas-Pan American has received an invitation from the WAC and "is expected to join the league next season." UTPA is currently a member of the Great West Conference (ESPN.com, 11/29).

Tecate on Friday announced that it will once again sponsor a Manny Pacquiao-Juan Manuel Marquez bout on Dec. 8. Tecate has sponsored the previous three bouts between the two boxers (Tecate).

Saturday's Miguel Cotto-Austin Trout junior middleweight boxing match at MSG is "not selling the way previous Cotto bouts have" at the venue. Cotto "has fought there seven times, and played to an at- or near-capacity house every time" (ESPNNY.com, 11/29).
