Carrier Classic Will Return To Charleston Despite Cancellation

The Carrier Classic will return to the USS Yorktown to open the college basketball season in '13 despite the cancellation of this past weekend's Ohio State-Marquette contest. Event promoter Mike Whalen today said that his group and the Patriots Point Development Authority "have agreed to hold the event again next year" in Charleston. Whalen said that organizers "believe they have an engineering solution to correct the condensation issue." He added that he has heard from "about 10 schools interested in taking part next year" (AP, 11/12).
