Lance Armstrong "has cut formal ties" with Livestrong, resigning from the BOD of the cancer-fighting charity "to avoid further damage brought by doping charges and being stripped of his seven Tour de France titles" (ESPN.com, 11/12).

The NFLPA today announced it is creating a program to offer paid internships to veterans and active armed forces members interested in sports industry careers. The internships will be named after late NFL player and Navy veteran Bill Radovich (NFLPA).

The Rolling Stones have added a show on Saturday, Dec. 8 at Barclays Center, which will mark the first U.S. date on the band's "50 And Counting" tour. Other scheduled shows at sports venues include November dates at Prudential Center and O2 Arena in London (Rolling Stones).

Nielsen and NM Insight, a joint venture between Nielsen and McKinsey & Co., have acquired social TV tracking firm SocialGuide (Nielsen).

Strategic Marketing Affiliates today announced that it has added three new clients: Sam Houston State Univ., S.F. State Univ. and Southwestern Oklahoma State Univ. SMA will manage trademark licensing programs for the institutions (SMA).
