Golf Channel To Show Long Drivers Of America In Three-Year Deal

Long Drivers of America today formally announced a new, long-term partnership with Golf Channel that will bring the Re/Max World Long Drive Championship to Golf Channel in '13 after 17 years on ESPN. The event will be showcased next year during October on Golf Channel via three primetime specials and a live, two-hour finale (Golf Channel). The three-year deal "gives up some ad space for LDA to sell." Golf Channel "is not paying a rights fee." The event previously had purchased time to appear on ESPN (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 10/29 issue).
