Event In S.F. Promotes MLBAM's Integration With Apple's Passbook

MLBAM tonight is holding a press event at AT&T Park to introduce its integration into Passbook, a significant feature in Apple's new iOS 6 mobile operating system. Passbook centralizes passes and tickets from various services, such as airline and rail boarding passes, coupons, loyalty programs, and movie and event tickets. Relevant items automatically upload to iPhone and iPod Touch lock screens at the appropriate time and place using geolocation, such as ballpark tickets while approaching a stadium just before a game.

Four MLB clubs are initially enabling mobile ticketing through Passbook, including the Giants, Red Sox, Mets and Royals. Each are primary ticketing clients of Tickets.com, owned by MLBAM.
