Barry Hyde Leaving USGA For Wasserman Media Group Position

USGA CMO Barry Hyde, who established and sold the association’s first corporate sponsorship program, is leaving to take a post in Wasserman Media Group’s golf division. A former PGA Tour and MasterCard exec, Hyde will join Wasserman on May 7 as Exec VP and report to President Malcolm Turner. Wasserman’s golf clients include Travelers and American Express, and Hyde will work with Turner to grow the agency’s golf consulting business. Hyde is Wasserman’s third key hire in recent weeks. Former Van Wagner Senior Sales Dir Andrew Zinberg joined Wasserman as VP/Athlete Marketing, and Megan Morgan, formerly of Titleist, will join Wasserman as Senior Dir of Golf.

Hyde joined the USGA in '05 and within 18 months signed American Express to be the first official partner in the 112-year history of the association. He has since filled out the USGA’s corporate roster with Rolex, IBM and Lexus.
