NBA Names Hornets/New Orleans Arena To Host '14 All-Star Game

NBA Commissioner David Stern today announced that the league has awarded the '14 All-Star Game to New Orleans. The announcement coincided with the formal introduction of Tom Benson as the new Hornets owner. Part of the lease agreement between the Hornets and the state of Louisiana announced March 16 "included a future All-Star Game." A source said that the first phase of a two-offseason renovation to New Orleans Arena "should be complete" prior to the All-Star Game in late February '14 (NOLA.com, 4/16).
