Big Events In Miami This Weekend With WrestleMania, Marlins Game

Sun Life Stadium will host WWE's WrestleMania XXVIII on Sunday in front of a crowd of roughly 70,000, and organizers estimate that about 30,000 out-of-town fans "from 50 states and 35 different countries" will be present. A Fan Axxess event began Thursday night at the Miami Beach Convention Center. It included "a section dedicated to the life of The Rock, local celebrity and actor Dwayne Johnson" (MIAMI HERALD, 3/30).

Also on Sunday in Miami, the Marlins will host an "exhibition dress rehearsal" against the Yankees in advance of the coming regular-season debut of Marlins Park. A nearby Walgreens location will charge $32.49 for parking around the game, making it "one of many businesses angling to cash in on fears – either real or exaggerated – that getting to and from Marlins games will be a pain" (South Florida SUN-SENTINEL, 3/30).
