Dr. Charles Steinberg, who served as Red Sox Exec VP/PR from '02-07, will "return to the club as senior advisor" to team President Larry Lucchino. Steinberg had been serving as senior advisor on public affairs to MLB Commissioner Bud Selig since '10 (BOSTON.com, 2/17).

USA Volleyball CEO Doug Beal has "declared his candidacy for the presidency of FIVB, the International Volleyball Federation." Beal has the support of the USOC and USA Volleyball's BOD in his pursuit of the position. The election will be held in September at the FIVB Congress in Anaheim (AP, 2/17).

Fox Sports has formally hired Henry Ford "to run" the soon-to-launch FS San Diego. Ford has hired an Exec Dir and a Padres Game Dir (NORTH COUNTY TIMES, 2/17).
