Knicks To Play First Home Game Since Latest MSG Renovations

The Knicks will play their first home preseason game at newly renovated MSG before an "expected sellout crowd" against the Nets. Team Owner James Dolan spent $850M on the latest upgrades. As part of the changes, the venue's "famous center-court Willis Reed tunnel from which the players emerge is gone, replaced by prime midcourt seats that make the building feel more intimate" (N.Y. POST, 12/21). MSG Sports President Scott O'Neil has offered to answer fans' questions about the renovations on his Twitter feed prior to the game (THE DAILY).

Meanwhile, the end of the NBA lockout has had the "predictable impact" of boosting the share price of MSG Co. From April to October, the share price fell from over $30 to about $20, but it has risen to the current share price of $29. If the Knicks go deep into the playoffs, the stock "will benefit from the additional games" (SMALLCAPNETWORK.com, 12/21).
