Francona May Explore Broadcast Work, Will Not Manage In '12

Former Red Sox manager Terry Francona today said he is "not going to try to manage next year." Instead, he "may explore some broadcast opportunities" and has been "contacted by representatives from Fox, ESPN and the MLB Network." Francona filled in for Tim McCarver as analyst for the first two games of Fox' ALCS coverage this year. Francona: "I'm going to explore some things in broadcasting and see where it leads. ... I'm not deluding myself, thinking I'm the next coming of John Madden. But I did enjoy it" (CSNNE.com, 11/16).
