Ole Miss Expected To Announce Impending Departure Of AD Boone

Ole Miss Chancellor Dan Jones today is expected to announce the departure of AD Pete Boone and football coach Houston Nutt. Jones will also announce that former NFLer Archie Manning and FedEx Exec VP Mike Glenn will co-chair a committee for hiring replacements for both men. Boone, the Ole Miss AD for 13 years over two stints, "has been the target of criticism from fans upset by the poor performance over the last two years by Rebel athletic teams" (CLARIONLEDGER.com, 11/7). A "specific timetable" for the AD search "has not yet been determined" (CSTV.com, 11/7).
