The WNBA today announced that Pirate's Booty snack brand will host Family Nights, which include various in-arena activities, in select markets. The partnership also includes special appearances by the "Pirate" mascot along with WNBA players at various retail locations (WNBA).

ESPN today announced that former NFLer Hugh Douglas is joining the net as a NFL studio analyst. Douglas today will make his ESPN debut on "NFL Live" at 4:00pm ET. ESPN today also announced that it will rebrand its high school sports initiatives ESPN High School (THE DAILY).

Triton Media Group's Dial Global and Westwood One today announced an agreement to merge in a stock for stock transaction. The deal is expected to close in Q4 and the new entity, "which has yet to be named, will be listed on the Nasdaq stock market." A source valued the deal at about $250M (NYTIMES.com, 8/1).
